Our structure
YourSide’s internal structure follows its commitment to transparency, trauma-informed approach, participatory governance, and continuous improvement.
Independent Panel
The Independent Panel is composed of members appointed by the FIFA Foundation for their experience and expertise in areas relevant to YourSide’s mission. The members serve in their individual capacities, on a voluntary basis and independent from any organisation or entity.
Special Advisors
Serving on a voluntary basis, they are appointed by the FIFA Foundation for two-year terms, which coincide with the mandate of the Panel, and may be reappointed. Special Advisors participate in Panel meetings to provide expertise on specific areas related to YourSide’s work, such as sport and integrity, law enforcement, and statutory systems.
Survivors Advisory Group
Survivors’ feedback is critical to YourSide’s success with athlete and participant survivors (persons impacted by abuse in sports such as coaches, referees, parents/guardians, or others), primarily in football, appointed by the Panel as members of the Survivors Advisory Group.
Secretariat
The Secretariat is responsible for the operational delivery and administrative actions of YourSide in line with the policies and procedures approved by the Independent Panel. The staff of the Secretariat consists of a core team of senior expert personnel, namely a Unit Lead, two Survivor Advocacy Services Managers, and a Case Management Services Manager.
The Secretariat is further supported by local and regional external experts hired on an ad hoc basis to provide culturally sensitive trauma-informed operational support services.
